The Painting

The body of the mind
Paced and then stopped
Questioned the silence
The work of the arts
Oiled pain and sorrow
Distanced seasonal happiness
Isolated minds rectangulated
Without particular selection
Money changed hands
And a painting was bought.

Gifted to a woman
With a wider prospect
A painting hung over
The painting of the wall
The eye for a conversation
Or dust covered descent
Its choosing of event was
When desolation found the woman
Silence intrigued her best
In this vacuum of sound
She'd shed time on herself
In staring
At the swirling hues
Of the painting
She bought.
